Established in 1934 and almost went unrecognizable during and after the 1994 genocide, Akagera Park is now a massive wildlife reserve. The introduction of Lions, Rhinos and reduced poaching has see the park risen to its glorious level again.

The park attracts thousands of tourists across the world annually generating almost US$3M yearly – a potential that could make it self-funded.
