Amboseli National Park Kenya
Game viewing.
It has a host of wild animals in a big population like elephants that inhabit open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush, marsh land. Game viewing is also conducted all day but the recommended time is early at 6:30am till 11:30am and evening begins at 2pm till 6:30pm. The day time game drive is perfect for attracting wildlife as the animals go downstream to quench the thirst.
Wildlife to view includes, spotted Hynes, bush baby, serval cats can be easily viewed during the night game drive ,waterbucks ,buffalos ,baboons ,aardwolf ,leopards ,jackals ,lions ,fringed eared ,Thomson’s ,Grants gazelles ,Hippopotamus ,zebras ,elephants among others.
Bird watching
Amboseli national park is a home of 400 bird species, some spotted along swamp areas, others in grasslands and in acacia woodland. Look out for greater flamingos, Lesser flamingo, long toed lap claw, Rufous chatterer, Spike-heeled heron, Tavete golden weaver, vonder Dicken’s hornbills, Dickinson’s kestrel, Common redshank, African swamphen, pangani longclaw, Hartlaub’s bustard among others.
Cultural Tours
The park is surrounded by the Maasai a native community that has famously settled around national parks. A community walk to this community will acquaint you to their unique way of life such as their thrilling traditional jump dance, unique clothing and afforestation programs.
Hot air balloon safari
This is a rewarding activity conducted early as you soar up high in a hot air balloon for a panoramic view of the national Park dotted with herds of buffaloes, elephants and beautiful birds in the air.
