“Le Pays des Mille Collines” is the name that Rwanda has made and it translates as land of a Thousand Hills as the endless mountains dominate this in this amiable stunning country. Nowhere are the mountains more regal than the volcanoes in the northwest, and hidden among the bamboo forests are some of the world’s last remaining mountain gorillas. Trek golden monkeys and visit Iby’iwacu cultural village as well while in this region.
Nyungwe forest national park is a high-altitude mountainous rainforest situated in the southern part of Rwanda. It was conserved in 2005 and spreads over 1,019sq km. It’s a sanctuary to 310 bird species, 13 primate species and 200 tree species.
