We bring to you another temperament of Africa where you run over26 miles through Masaka’s breathtaking scenery.  It’s the perfect choice to be running as your participation leaves a positive impact to the community in medical care, education and conservation of the environment.

The yellow rays of the sun glint over the beautiful hills that are concealed in green foliage. It’s a time to inhale the fresh breeze that goes over the land as you get along to access your destination.

Interlocking hills in the western part of the country will take your breath away as you will glare at a string of the beautiful raised lands. Patterns of terraced hills at a distance will amaze you as the community cultivates on terraces to curb soil erosion. The real deal is when you’re in sight of the mountain Gorillas as you watch them feed and organize themselves.

A family led by a silverback that remarkably manages the family. Comfortable lodging is our priority as you will witness. A Race like no other follows as you’ll run by over 5000 native runners as the communities cheer you on.

Day 1: Transfer To Bwindi National Park 31/05/2023.

Your arrival at the airport will be an honor as a Silverbird tours representative happily receive you.

  • You’ll leave the airport and head to Kigali for a meal depending on your arrival time and embark on a journey to Uganda 154km from Kigali international Airport.
  • Proceed Northward crossing to Uganda through the Cyanika border.
  • Continue with the journey through in Uganda looking out for some picturesque scenery formed of a string of hills neatly cultivated by the natives of this region.
  • The community at this time begins to become active as groups laying bricks, mining stones, shoveling sand begin dotting the roadsides as the day begins as you drive to your accommodation for dinner and overnight. (Mutanda lake resort H.B)

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience 01/06/2023.

Wake up early in time for breakfast before heading to the park offices for a briefing at 8:00AM.

  • You’ll join a group of trekkers to make a team of 8 per group with packed snacks. You’ll be led by an armed ranger in the forest to search for the Mountain Gorillas.
  • Traverse the forest while slashing the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to locate gorillas.
  • The time taken to track the Gorillas is unpredictable and depends on their movements in search for food and shelter. However, it can take three quarters of the day and 90% chances of viewing them.
  • Upon reaching the Gorillas, you will have one hour with them to watch them interact with each other as you take photographs and Videos.
  • You’ll return to the point of origin for a debrief and head out to the community for souvenirs. Return to your hotel for Lunch by the shores of Lake Mutanda, relaxation and canoeing later in the afternoon. Enjoy the tranquility of this lake as you paddle on this beautiful lake.
  • Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer To Masaka 02/06/2023.

Depart from your accommodation after breakfast and transfer to Masaka with a stop in Mbarara for lunch.

  • You’ll then proceed to Masaka and check into your accommodation. It’s here that you’ll meet the rest of the runners from all over the world by the poolside at the pasta party a race eve tradition with a medical briefing.
  • You’ll have an early rest to prepare for the long run

Day 4: Race Day 03/06/2023.

Wake up for early breakfast that starts at 0400hrs to 0545hrs. You’ll be walked to the starting point for a warm up at 06:00hrs.

  • The race kicks off at 7am as you run on a terrain that is a blend of paved roads, loose surface, hills and flat going through locales of breath-taking scenery as you run on.
  • A team of martials will be spread out on the course for the whole day to ensure you get to the finish line without losing your way.
  • Feel free to stop and take photos as you catch your breath before he next hill. Medics, ambulances, looping cars will be spread out on the course to make sure every participant is well hydrated, safe, healthy and okay to go on.
  • A lot of water will be at various water points and in addition to that, looping cars will carry extra water in case you’re in between water point.
  • The race team will be determined to wait for every runner, trotter, walker and sight seer to cross the finish line as they celebrate your ability to finish the race under the tremendous equatorial weather conditions.
  • You’ll then have lunch at the hotel and relax as you wait for the closing of the event later in the night. Upon having dinner, you’ll proceed to the glade to receive your medal.

Day 5: Airport Transfer 04/06/2023.

Depart from Masaka after breakfast and transfer to Entebbe for your flight back home with an option for a visit in Entebbe if you fly later in the night.
