2 Days In Akagera National Park

Day 1: Departure, Night Game Drive

• You’ll start the day’s activities with a briefing from a Silverbird tours representative before divulging into the day’s mystic.
• You will then proceed to Akagera national park with Enroute Lunch arriving in time for relaxing before briefing and enjoying a night game drive. Akagera is the fortress of the big 5 and has had a rapid increase in wildlife population. The night game drive lasting about 2-3hrs gives you an opportunity to view nocturnal animals at their best as they seek for food.
• You’ll look out for lions, hyenas, civets, mangoes and many other nocturnal species.
• Upon finishing your game drive, you’ll head to your lodge check in for dinner and overnight. (Akagera game lodge F.B)

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive And Boat Trip

• You can’t get enough of the wild! This day upon having breakfast, your mind should be set to aquatic life.
• Lake Ihema is your destination for the boat ride as it presents an avenue of reconnoitering aquatic life. While on a boat, lookout for hippos and crocodiles as this lake is famous for its largest hippo concentration in all of East Africa.
• Remarkable bird species like the Papyrus Gonolek, jacanas, herons, sandpipers, malachite kingfisher, the hawk, and the rare shoebill stork and many more will entice you as you get along.
• You’ll then have a full game drive as you exit the park with enroute lunch. The full game drive will enable you to see a number of animals as most of them are making their last hunt before scorching sun rays emerge as the Elephants, Lions, Leopards stand out in this wonderful savannah park.
• For a habitat of over 480 bird species, elephants, buffalos, giraffe, zebras, leopards, hyenas, lions, antelopes, bushbucks, Topis, Oribis, water-buck, roan antelope and duiker, klipspringer, impala and world largest antelope, there is no better place to be for a game drive. You’ll then transfer to Kigali from Akagera national park arriving later in the evening.
