3 Days In Akagera National Park

Day 1: Transfer To Akagera National Park And Community Walk.

Depart from Kigali and to the eastern part of Rwanda. A journey of about 3 hrs will take you to Savanna Park.

• Three discrete environments describe Akagera National Park with Standard savannah dominating much of the region.
• An enormous swampy area along the border with Tanzania engulfs six lakes with numerous islands, some of which are forested.
• Low mountains on the flanks of the park with variable vegetation, ranging from short grasses on the summits to wooded savannah and dense thickets of forest form the third environmental component of this National Park.
• The Morning game drive will enable you to see a number of animals as most of them are making their last hunt before scorching sun rays emerge as the Elephants, Lions, Leopards stand out in this wonderful savannah park.
• For a habitat of over 480 birds species, elephants, buffalos, giraffe, zebras, leopards, hyenas, lions, antelopes, bush bucks, Topis, Oribis, water-buck, roan antelope and duiker, klipspringer, impala and world largest antelope, there is no better place to be for a game drive.
• You’ll arrive in time for lunch and relaxation. Check into your hotel as you enjoy the scenery in your vicinity.
• you’ll have a night game drive to look out for the night grazers as hippos, Leopards and other nocturnal animals are at their busiest.
• You’ll then prepare for dinner as a camp fire later in the evening awaits where you’ll have story telling as oral tradition is typical of Africa passing on information to another generation.
• You’ll have dinner and overnight  (Akagera game lodge, H.B)

Day 2: Game Drive And Boat Cruise. (Option For Sunset Or Sunrise).

Start the day after breakfast and drive to the closest Akagera national park reception for briefing. You’ll divulge into the mystic in search for a number of animals.

• The Morning game drive will enable you to probably see a number of animals as most of them are making their last hunt before scorching sun rays emerge.
• For a habitat of over 480 bird species, elephants, buffalos, giraffe, zebras, leopards, antelopes, bushbucks, Topis, Oribis, water-buck, roan antelope and duiker, klipspringer, impala and world largest antelope, will dominate your game drive.
• You’ll have lunch and prepare for the boat cruise. Lake Ihema is your destination for the boat ride as it presents an avenue of reconnoitering aquatic life. While on a boat, lookout for hippos and crocodiles as this lake is famous for its largest hippo concentration in all of East Africa.
• Remarkable bird species like the Papyrus,  Gonolek, jacanas, herons, sandpipers, malachite, kingfisher, the hawk, and the rare shoe bill stork and many more will entice you as you get along.
• You’ll return to the campsite for dinner and a campfire experience where you’ll share the day’s experience.

Day 3: Full Game Drive And Transfer To Kigali.

Depart from your lodging after breakfast and head for a morning game and drive as you exit the national Park arriving in time for your flight with an option for a Kigali city tour to the genocide memorial, Mt Kigali and a local market before your flight back home/ Kigali.
